Additionally, Sunday’s meet will be the highest-ranked, regular season matchup in the Coliseum since No. 2 Oklahoma visited Morgantown on Jan. 22, 2021.
Florida holds a 15-2 advantage in the all-time series with the Mountaineers, while Utah is 2-0 over West Virginia. WVU and Florida meet for the first time since the two squared off in a season-opening quad meet in Gainesville, Fla., on Jan. 6, 2023. The Gators claimed the meeting by a score of 197.75 – 194.925. In their first-ever meeting as league foes, the Mountaineers and Utes are set to compete for the first time since Jan. 19, 2013, a 196.95 – 192.125 Utah victory in Salt Lake City.
Last time out, WVU tallied a season-high 194.1 team score in a dual meet at No. 16 Denver inside Magness Arena in Denver, Colorado, on Jan. 26. The host Pioneers secured first place in the dual meet with a 195.975, followed by the Mountaineers in second. West Virginia posted event scores of 48.35 on vault, 48.525 on the uneven bars, 48.575 on balance beam and 48.65 on floor exercise. In the final event results, a pair of Mountaineers made the beam podium, as senior Anna Leigh tied for the event win (9.8) and sophomore Jurnee Lane finished behind her in third (9.75).
In this week’s Road to Nationals rankings, the Mountaineers rank No. 53 overall in the fourth week of rankings for the 2025 season. Their highest event ranking is on floor, where they sit No. 39 with a season average of 48.8 on the event. Additionally, West Virginia is No. 6 in the Big 12 and No. 9 in the southeast region on floor.
