MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University tennis team was picked to finish 15th in the 2025 Big 12 Women’s Tennis Preseason Poll as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
 

Coaches in the conference rank each team except their own.

 

West Virginia was chosen to finish 12th in 2024. The Mountaineers ultimately finished 11th in the Big 12, winning their most conference matches since joining.

 

Oklahoma State was chosen to finish first, garnering 15 first-place votes. This marks the second consecutive season Oklahoma State is the preseason favorite in the Big 12. 

 

The Big 12 welcomes four new programs ahead of the 2025 season with Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah joining.

 

West Virginia begins the 2025 season on Saturday, Jan. 18, with a home doubleheader against Duquesne and Morgan State. The Mountaineers will face Duquesne at 10 a.m. ET and Morgan State at 3 p.m. at Summit Tennis Academy in Morgantown.
