MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior guard JJ Quinerly of the West Virginia women’s basketball team has been named the WVU Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by University Apartments.
The Norfolk, Virginia native averaged 25 points, four assists and four steals across two contests. Her play led the Mountaineers to an 80-58 win over UCF and a 66-53 win over BYU.
Quinerly scored a season-high 31 points against UCF, setting a program record with 17 points in the opening quarter of the contest. She closed out the week with 19 points against BYU.
Quinerly has now scored in double figures 80 times in her career. She is 11th in all-time points scored and sixth in steals in program history.
