MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The No. 22 West Virginia University wrestling team lost to No. 3 Oklahoma State, 30-12, at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Sunday.



 

West Virginia (8-4, 2-3 Big 12) battled with the Cowboys, picking up three individual wins, but ultimately lost a tough battle.

 

Senior No. 13 Jett Strickenberger continued his unprecedented win streak against ranked opponents, defeating No. 4 Troy Spratley by fall. Strickenberger has now defeated four straight ranked opponents and is 10-5 overall this season.

 

Fifth-year No. 3 Peyton Hall remained undefeated after he beat No. 6 Cameron Amine by decision, 5-1. Hall leads West Virginia at 22-0 on the year.

 

Fifth-year Sam Hillegas battled it out with Oklahoma State’s Cutter Sheets in the 149-pound match as he picked up the win by decision, 8-6.
